MASTER DARCY SEMINAR

European Director Master Darcy 6th Degree, flew into Scotland on the 6th of May with Master Peter Byrne 6th Degree, Mrs Doreen Byrne 4th Degree (Highest ranking female in Europe) and Mr William Hillock 1st Degree. The group also included Master Darcy's partner Marie.

This was A.I.M.A.A Irelands first visit to Scotland and the group where met at Glasgow Airport by A.I.M.A.A Scotland Regional Director Mr John Kirkwood 5th Degree and Mr Karim Belgacem 3rd Degree.

Master Darcy and the A.I.M.A.A Ireland officials spent the first day meeting people and then had some fun at Strathclyde's M & D's Theme park. Mr Hillock was brave enough to go on the catapult ride with Miss Shaw (Highest ranking female in Scotland). Later on that evening the group had a meal in Hamilton Town Centre in a local Spanish Restaurant, where they relaxed with Scottish instructors and partners.

The Seminar which was completely sold out, was scheduled for Sunday the 7th within Hamilton and lasted just over 2 hrs.

A.I.M.A.A Scotland Instructors present where Regional Director Mr Kirkwood 5th Degree, Mr Lawson 4th Degree, Mr Belgacem 3rd Degree, Miss Shaw 3rd Degree, Mr John Kirkwood Jnr 2nd Degree, Mr Shaw 2nd Degree. Other Black Belts where Miss Reid 2nd Degree, Mr Logan 1st Degree, Mr Farrell 1st Degree, Mr Brown 1st Degree.

The seminar incorporated one-step, sparring techniques, grappling and self defence.  Over 60 students attended, not including the Instructors who where there also. This inspiring seminar left every one of them with memories that they will never forget.

The seminar was thrilling to participate in and for those watching it was equally so. Parents watched in awe from the back of the hall, and listened intently to every word Master Darcy said.  He spoke to the students of how they must show respect and love to their parents, to never give up and to be all they can be.

The young students (some aged just 6) loved every moment of the event and afterwards eagerly lined up with the adults to speak to Master Darcy and obtain his autograph, and a photograph of them with this spine-tingling Master.  The Scottish students and Instructors presented Master Darcy with a gift of their deep appreciation in the form of a Crystal Decanter and glass set.

At that point the hall erupted with spontaneous applause and the seminar came to an end in an electrifying atmosphere, a truly remarkable day for all the Instructors, students and parents.

After the seminar Master Darcy and his group returned to their hotel to get freshened up before meeting with all the Scottish Black Belts and partners for an evening meal. The night ended with a karaoke session, and a "Scottish Jig", a night not to be forgotten.

The weekend ended with Master Darcy and all the A.I.M.A.A Officials flying out of Glasgow Airport. Since that weekend Master Darcy has telephone Mr Kirkwood to speak of the true dedication he saw in students of Scotland and to thank A.I.M.A.A Scotland for a truly enjoyable weekend.
