JOIN THE ACTION IN SCOTLAND

The Action International Martial Arts Association Scotland (A.I.M.A.A Scotland) is the largest organisation for A.I.M.A.A  in the country! We guarantee certified experienced Instructors, all of whom have undertaken specialist training, are Disclosure Scotland vetted and hold full professional indemnity insurance.

Master John Kirkwood 6th Degree is the A.I.M.A.A Director in Scotland and is the senior student of Grandmaster Hee Il Cho.  Master Kirkwood has trained in the art of Tae-Kwon-Do for over 39 years and teaches many students within North and South Lanarkshire personally.  A.I.M.A.A Scotland schools work as a unified association to promote Taekwondo within Scotland, ensuring all students receive the best possible training, access to the best competitions, workshops, camps and social events.

Master Kirkwood offers specialised classes in self defence, point and continuous sparring, self defence, grappling, boxing and kickboxing, as well as body conditioning and plyometrics.  As the appointed director of A.I.M.A.A Scotland he endeavours to ensure that Grandmaster Cho's teachings and philosophies are engraved into the minds of the Instructors and students in Scotland.

A.I.M.A.A Scotland has official schools in Blantyre, Hamilton, East Kilbride, Bothwell, Motherwell Lesmahagow, Rutherglen, Govan, Riddrie and Gallowgate. We also have official A.I.M.A.A Panther schools in Blantyre, Lesmahagow and Motherwell.  New schools are always opening up and offer excellent coaching from the best in Scotland, so please contact us to find out if we have one in your area!

A.I.M.A.A NEWS & EVENTS

AIMAA SCOTLAND COLOUR BELT TESTING & PANTHER TESTING

The first AIMAA Scotland belt testing will be held on Saturday the 18th February at AIMAA Scotland HQ from 12 noon until 5pm. 

Panther testing will take place on Sunday the 19th of February at 5pm in studio 1, at AIMAA Scotland HQ.

Please see you instructor regarding this testing to ensure you are eligible.

AIMAA SCOTLAND STUDENT AWARDS - FEB 2012

Over 220 students, parents and instructors will be in attendance at this years annual award night.  This award night is to honour students who have excelled in 2011 within all our schools! We are looking forward to another fantastic award night with a student demonstration, video presentation and of course our student awards!

The event will be held at the prestigious banqueting suite in Almada street and kicks off at 6.30pm.  Tickets will be given out in class next week and we look forward to seeing everyone on the night!

AIMAA & GTF SCOTLAND INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR

AIMAA Scotland Director, Master John Kirkwood and GTF Scotland Technical officer Mr Stephen Gell will be conducting a joint seminar on Saturday, 3rd March in Motherwell.  This event will cover 2 separate 1.5 hour seminars from both International Instructors. Mr Stephen Gell 5th Degree will be hosting his seminar on progressive competition sparring, drill and combinations. Mr Gell who is the current GTF World Champion has numerous titles under his belt and is an outstanding martial artist.

The second seminar will be conducted by Master Kirkwood 6th Degree and will cover effective self defence, tackles, takedowns and will also cover knife defence.  Master Kirkwood has a vast amount of knowledge in this field.  Both seminars will offer all attendees a chance to train with the best in Scotland and learn new and exciting skills!

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased via AIMAA Scotland or contacting Mr Gell at the GTF Scotland.  Individual tickets are £25, and we have family concessions for 2, 3 and 4 family members.   Please note that this event is open to all AIMAA Scotland members, GTF members and our friends within the martial art community.

AIMAA COACHING & BLACK BELT WORKSHOP

Master Kirkwood is conducting a FREE coaching and Black Belt workshop on Sunday the 11th of March at AIMAA Scotland HQ. The workshop will be held from 12-3pm in the main hall. 

This workshop is open to all red belt student and black belts within AIMAA Scotland, and only open to 14 years upwards.  This is the first of many workshops planned during 2012.

SCOTTISH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2012

The Scottish Taekwondo Academy in Inverclyde are hosting their annual Scottish Championships on Sunday the 25th March in Greenock. 

AIMAA Scotland will have a large contingent of fighters attending this event alongside Master Kirkwood and Mr John Kirkwood.

All students will be given all competition information and forms in class. There is a strict deadline and all forms and fees must be returned to HQ by that date or you will not be allowed to enter this event.

We look forward to attending this event in March as we have missed taking part in this event the last few years, due to other engagements.  We are sure everyone will enjoy this event, and if anyone has any questions please see Mrs Kirkwood or Master Kirkwood in class.
