The
second last day of camp, was here!
Day 4 was an awesome day as we had classes with Grandmaster
Phillip Ameris, Master John Darcy and Master John Kirkwood. The
children were also truly excited as this was the day they had
their long awaited Grandmaster Cho seminar in which they would
spend an entire 2 hours training with him and learning from him!
Everyone was buzzing about excited at the thought of undertaking
the M.M.A class with Grandmaster Ameris, Full Contact sparring
class with Master Darcy and the Continuous sparring class with
Master Kirkwood. Grandmaster Ameris, who is the A.I.M.A.A
Technical Director, kicked off the days activities with his
awesome M.M.A class, in which he showed us various clinches,
takedowns and holds!
His expertise was quite obvious to everyone around, who watched
in amazement as he explained each move to us, so that we could
truly understand the impact of the move and the results we could
obtain! We had all been paired up, so that after each move we
could practice with our partner, much to our delight!

After Grandmaster Ameris was finished his class, and after a 10
minute break, we quickly moved onto the Full Contact class,
taught by A.I.M.A.A Europe Director, Master John Darcy!
This was a fast flowing class, in which students where shown
various punching techniques and moves to take ones opponent
down!
The class was on a buzz by now and everyone enjoyed this class,
as not many of us get a chance to train or even compete in a
full contact environment.
Master Darcy was like a powerhouse, exploding from one technique
to another, showing the correct way to punch, stand and execute
each move!
Students loved the combinations and enjoyed practising these on
each other.

The final class of the day was with Master John Kirkwood, the
A.I.M.A.A Scotland Director. Master Kirkwood has a vast
knowledge in point and continuous sparring and loves nothing
more to put students through their paces in training on both
disciplines!
Students
were kept on their toes as the went through one combination to
another, as well as undertake various exercises to make them
faster with their hands and feet, by performing and executing
combinations.
The techniques covered within this 1hr 45 minute class was low
and high kicks to the body and head, as well as lung punches and
counter attacks!
Students loved this class as the leapt from one technique to
another!

During all these class the children had been in
the far end of the hall, within an area going through the
A.I.M.A.A curriculum and exercises, not to mention the games
they played with Grandmaster Cho.

Many of our high ranking A.I.M.A.A women helped Grandmaster with
the children and everyone within the children's seminar loved
every minute of this class! Children punched hard, kicked
hard under the booming voice of Grandmaster Cho!
Grandmaster
chose some students to come to the front of the class to exhibit
their skill to the others. Our very own Jack Reid and Kara
Gough, where amongst this group and where ecstatic to have been
chosen.
Both perfected their pattern and one-step with power, technique
and grace along with their counterparts for the watching crowd
of parents and students, and of course Grandmaster Cho.
A.I.M.A.A Scotland also had Lauren, Rachel, Christie Mullaghton
and Kayley Russell training alongside their fellow students in
this fantastic seminar!

As our day came to a close, everyone knew the end was near, as
tomorrow not only brought another day of excellent class, but as
sadness as everyone would be soon saying goodbye to each other!
