VISIT TO CHO'S MULLINGAR

Master Kirkwood and Mrs Kirkwood took a trip to visit their friend and Instructor Master John Darcy, who is the European Director of A.I.M.A.A. During this weekend in Ireland the couple visited Master Darcy's new school in Mullingar, which is situated in the heart of the countryside within beautiful surroundings. This is the last place you would expect to find an A.I.M.A.A School, but there it is! and it is a fantastic purposely built Dojang, fully equipped for all types of training and also has a large car park. The school is owned by Mr William Hillock an Instructor within AI.M.A.A Ireland.

This school is thriving and has an abundance of students training on a weekly basis , taking classes on various evenings. Master Darcy teaches class every Tuesday and Friday in Mullingar to the delight of many students and parents.

During their trip to Master Darcy's school they where also accompanied by Ms Amy Driscol and Mr Hassan Eskibar of A.I.M.A.A Ireland who had also made the trip to train and help out in the class. Both A.I.M.A.A Students are exemplary students and train with Mr Gerry Long and Master Darcy.

The training was highly enjoyable and the children who participated in the 1st class had exceptional fun! Master Darcy had them working up and down the floor, undertaking kicking and one-step routines. They competed in teams against each other, with Master Kirkwood taking one group, Master Darcy with another group and both Amy and Hassan taking a group of their own.  The children had such fun at training and gathered at the end to sing happy birthday to one of the young students who had turned 6 yrs that day!

The night progressed with a hard training session for the adults and Instructors and one that was highly enjoyable. It was an honour to attend class in Mullingar and meet all the students and parents. Both Master Kirkwood and Mrs Kirkwood were honoured that Master Darcy had invited them to travel down with him to his new classes.

The weekend for Master Kirkwood continued with spending time training with Master Darcy at the A.I.M.A.A European Headquarters in Dublin. Master Kirkwood trained on the Saturday afternoon alongside Mr Gerry Long and Mr Paul Healy, two exceptional Instructors within A.I.M.A.A.  The Saturday class is an open one for all students to train.

Master Darcy started the class with some Yoga relaxation moves and then went onto covering the A.I.M.A.A Curriculum covering the patterns, self defence and much more. The class lasted 1 hour, but the Instructors carried on training in the Dojang, after the class had disbursed.  The weekend was highly enjoyable and relaxing as Master Kirkwood and Mrs Kirkwood got to spend personal and valuable time with Master Darcy and A.I.M.A.A Instructors.

A special thank you to Mr Paul Healy for taking the time from his busy schedule and for travelling from far away to meet with Master Kirkwood on the Friday and Saturday. Also a special thank you Mr Gerry Long, Miss Amy Driscol and Mr Hassan Eskibar.
