Master John Kirkwood
has been involved with Tae-Kwon-Do for over 35 years
and has taught Tae Kwon-Do for over 25 years to
students in Lanarkshire. Having first established
his club in Larkhall when he was in his twenties. He
taught the community for over 20 years before
establishing the largest club in A.I.M.A.A Scotland,
which is in Blantyre Sports Centre. He also teaches
alongside his son John Kirkwood Jnr at Lesmahagow High
School.
He has numerous
World, International and National Champions within
his school in Blantyre, and teaches specialised
courses in self defence, point and continuous
sparring, as well as body conditioning and
plyometrics. Over the last decade he has went on
produce many Black belts, some having went onto to
becoming Instructors in their own right.
Master Kirkwood
was appointed directly by Grandmaster Hee Il Cho as
Director of A.I.M.A.A Scotland, were he endeavours
to ensure that Grandmaster Cho's teachings and
philosophies are engraved into the minds of the
Instructors and students in Scotland. Master
Kirkwood travels to the USA frequently to train with
Grandmaster Cho and Master Ameris. He also travels
to Europe to train with his Instructor Master John
Darcy, who is the European Director of A.I.M.A.A.

GRANDMASTER HEE IL CHO EUROPEAN SEMINARS
 It
is with great honour we announce that A.I.M.A.A
President and Founder Grandmaster Hee Il Cho 9th
Degree, will be visiting Europe in September 2009.
Grandmaster Cho will be conducting only two seminars
during this visit, and an International Testing as
well.
The International Testing and first
seminar will be held in Dublin, Ireland. The second
seminar will be held in Scotland.

A.I.M.A.A EUROPEAN SUMMER CAMP IN JERSEY
The first ever European Summer Camp
which was FREE for all students and Instructors to
take part in took place on the beautiful island of
Jersey. A.I.M.A.A European Director Master John
Darcy and A.I.M.A.A Ireland Director Master Peter
Byrne undertook a weekend of seminars for all the
campers! Master John Kirkwood was very disappointed
that he could not attend the camp this time, due to
to work commitments, but sent his best wishes to all
those who had travelled to the island to train and

A.I.M.A.A SUCCESS AT THE TAI INTERNATIONAL
OPEN TAE KWON DO CHAMPIONSHIPS
   
The A.I.M.A.A Scotland National Squad
attended the Taekwondo Association of Ireland
International Tae Kwon Do Championships with their
fellow A.I.M.A.A Ireland squad members. This event
brought together many different associations within
Taekwondo, such as A.I.M.A.A, TAI, TAGB, ITF, ITA
and many other associations. The event had over 300
competitors attend the day, and we saw many
exceptional competitors showing off their talent.
The A.I.M.A.A Scotland squad did an
exceptional job and won an impressive 30 trophies
with 14 of these being International Titles.

MASTER
DARCY TO TEST FOR 7TH DEGREE IN IRELAND
A.I.M.A.A European Director, Master
John Darcy will be testing on the 19th of September
in his home country of Ireland for 7th Degree.
A.I.M.A.A Director Master John Darcy is the rock and
the backbone of A.I.M.A.A in Europe and oversees it
development. The International testing in Ireland
will be an exceptional one, with over 100 students
and Instructors now looking forward to testing under
Grandmaster Hee Il Cho and the A.I.M.A.A Masters.
Master Kirkwood commented " I have known for quite a
while of the testing and am profoundly happy that
the news is now common knowledge, as I know all of
A.I.M.A.A Ireland and Scotland is proud of Master
Darcy and his achievements within the A.I.M.A.A family. All students from Scotland
testing in Ireland must hand in their application
form and fee to their Instructor by the 7th of
August closing date, along with their 500 word thesis. |

PHILLIP AMERIS TO TEST FOR 8TH DEGREE AT SUMMER CAMP

13 month training for this history making testing in
Washington DC. It will be a privilege and honour to

A.I.M.A.A EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010
Master Kirkwood and Mrs Kirkwood will
be hosting the A.I.M.A.A European Championships in
May 2010 in Scotland. This event will be
invitational and a pre-registered event and will
incorporate some new divisions in self-defence and
teams. All details of the divisions, costs and info
on the event will be sent out to all relevant
parties in the coming months. Do not miss out on the
exciting event and your chance to gain a European
Title. |
FULL-CONTACT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010
Master Darcy and Mr Paul Healy will
be hosting the first ever A.I.M.A.A Full Contact
World Championships in Ireland in 2010. This event
will be held later in 2010 and will be a closed
event only open to A.I.M.A.A members.
To date we have interest from Ireland, Scotland and
the USA to participate in this exceptional event,
which will be held under K1 rules.

This pre-school program is designed
for children aged between 3 and 5 years old.
These
classes have a special curriculum that will be fun
and meets the needs of these youngsters.
The children in the "Little Panther"
programme will learn key character development
skills to prepare them for their school years.
